Wheel covers Are precisely what the term implies: this hub cap covers the entire wheel instead of just a portion. Only the balancing weights show on the outer edge of the wheel whereas the later models go all the way to the edge of the rim.	Hubcaps The literal meaning is something that covers the “Hub” portion of the rim as opposed to hiding the whole thing. Technically, a center cap is exactly the same as a hub cap.	Center Caps Despite being the same thing as a hubcap but very different from a wheel cover, over time people have used the word 'hubcap' to describe all three.
