Do you have an Altima Coupe with OE Altima Hubcaps but don’t really know what a coupe is? No worries. My Dad used to have an Altima when I was younger, and I had no idea that there was something called a coupe back then.
The name “coupe”, or coupé, comes from the French word “couper,” which means “to cut”. I guess you can say that the name fits because most coupes that are on the market today – like the Altima & Altima Hub Caps – have a backseat that is placed closer to the front seats compared to any other car that’s on the market. If you were to look at it differently, part of the rear seating space has literally been “cut”. This leaves just a small amount of room for the people sitting in the back.
Most people that are looking for an exact definition of the word won’t be happy with what they find. The main reason why is because they won’t be able to find it! Most people define a coupe as a car which has two doors and a hardtop.
