1966 Chevrolet Corvair

Posted on May 7th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

Hello all,

Our featured vehicle today is this 1966 Chevrolet Corvair. Look at what beautiful shape she’s in. These Corvairs were offered from 1960 to 1969 and came in many body styles. There were 4 Door Sedans, 2 Door Sedans, Convertibles, a Station Wagon, even a compact Van version. These 1966 Corvairs were equipped with a new 4 speed Synchromesh transmission. Though the Chevy Corvairs were popular and maintained sales which exceeded 200,000 for many years, it was decided to discontinue the Corvair in 1969. I’m sure that Ralph Nader’s book “Unsafe At Any Speed” and competition from Ford’s Mustang helped speed the Corvair’s demise.

This beauty features our CHV013 wheel covers. Made for these 13″ wheels, they were lovingly restored by our guys in the restoration department. They look beautiful on this gorgeous Chevy. Ken, thank you so much for sending us these pictures of your Corvair. She looks loved.

We specialize factory original wheelcovers for classic and newer cars. Give us a chance to help you out. We’ll do our best. Feel free to visit our website catalog or give us a call at 1-800-826-5880. Email me here at April@Hubcaps.com and I’ll get you the information you need.

Thanks again to Ken for sharing his baby with us. Take care all!

1966 Ford Bronco…

Posted on April 30th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

1966 Ford BroncoGood Morning from Hubcaps.com in Southern California!

It’s been hot so today’s cooler weather is much appreciated. I’m sure the firemen in the hills above Pasadena are appreciating it too. What heroes they are! Thanks to them all from all of us here.

Our featured vehicle today comes to us from Bryan, in Windsor, Colorado. It’s this very cool looking 1966 Ford Bronco. I love the very simple styling of this Bronco. It’s small size, 92″ wheelbase, made it very popular for off-roaders. Standard was a Dana Corp. transfer case and locking hubs but many options were also available. The base price was $2,194.00 and 23,776 were produced that first year. They sold well. Some of the options included front bucket seats, rear bench seats, a tachometer and a CB Radio.

Bryan was very pleased with his FRD995 wheel covers that we sent him for the front wheels. We also refurbished the back wheel covers, our FRD994’s for him. Doesn’t she have a great sporty look? I love it! Thanks so much for sharing her with us, Bryan. What an awesome truck.

Once again, I’d like to let you all know that we’re here to help you. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call us at 1-800-826-5880 or email me at April@Hubcaps.com. We’ll be happy to help you. Please send me your pictures and stories, too. I’m always happy to read them.

Take care,

1949 Plymouth Woody Station Wagon…

Posted on April 25th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

1949 Plymouth Woody Station WagonMorning and Happy Friday to you all!

Today I’m sharing this awesome 1949 Plymouth Woody Station Wagon with you all.  Ken sent us pictures of this beauty that he owns in New York.  Isn’t she gorgeous?  How fun would it be to cruise around in this baby in the sweet summertime?

The 1949 Plymouth Woody was the first all steel station wagon.  But Woodies were expensive to build and expensive to maintain.  There were 3,443 of these cars produced.  The engine was a 117 cubic inch L-Head Six.  She had three seats and sat 8 passengers.  The wood bodies were produced by a company called U.S. Body and Forging Co.  Some of the options available for this baby were an electric clock, two different push-button radios, 3 heater options and 3 different paint colors.

We have many hubcaps for the classic Plymouth’s.  Please visit our 1949 to 1965 Plymouth page to see if we have what you’re looking for.  If you don’t see it, give us a call.  We have many hub caps and wheel covers that we haven’t had a chance to picture on the web site yet.

I’m running out of pictures.  I would love for you all to email me pictures of your cars and trucks and I’ll get them posted on here.  Feel free to email me at April@Hubcaps.com.  Just send me your pictures and stories.  We’ll show off your beauties!

Thanks all…Thanks so much to Ken in New York for sending us the pictures of his baby.  She is gorgeous and we thank you for allowing us to post about her here.

1967 Chrysler Newport…

Posted on April 9th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

1967 Chrysler NewportMorning!

Wow, another week gone by.  I can’t believe how fast time flies.  Today we are showcasing this awesome 1967 Chrysler Newport.   The Newport was introduced in 1961 and based on the Chrysler C-body.  Look at the length of this baby.  It has a 124″ wheelbase, a squared-off design and more pronounced body contours.  The standard engine on the ‘67 Newport was the 383. This model still had the Chrysler trademarked “upside-down” speedometer needle.  What a beauty she is, isn’t she?  To finish her look, we restored a set of Chrysler wheel covers, our part number CHR307.  You can see them here on our Dodge Charger page.

We love to share pictures of our customer’s vehicle.  Just email me your pictures and a little story and we’ll get it posted it for you.  Feel free to email me here at April@Hubcaps.com.  I love hearing from you.

Our restoration department has been working very hard at restoring these old wheelcovers.  They come to us in bad shape, dinged and dented and scratched.  Our guys polish and buff and remove the dents and then the hub caps look almost new.  We want to keep our customers thoroughly satisfied.  Give us a chance, we’ll do our best for you.

Thanks so much to Brian for sharing the pictures of his Newport.  What a beauty.  I absolutely love these big cars!

Take care all,

April

1970 Ford Mustang…

Posted on April 2nd, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

1970 Ford MustangHey all,

Today Hubcaps.com is celebrating this beautiful 1970 Ford Mustang. What a great color she is! Love this green. If anyone knows what the color is called, please let me know. Look at those wheel covers!! They are our FRD639 Wire wheelcovers for 14″ wheels. They are just awesome, aren’t they? They came to us dirty and banged up and our restoration department made them look brand-new.

This ‘Stang was big. She had the dual lights in the grille and differently shaped rear taillights but boy, doesn’t she have that look of power? The Mustang was growing in size and weight and apparently, that wasn’t what the customer wanted at the time. The Pony cars were diminishing in sales by 1970 as people were searching for a more fuel efficient vehicle. Well, we all want them now, don’t we? She’s truly a classic.

We’re happy to showcase this Mustang and her hubcaps. If you’d like your car or truck featured here, please don’t hesitate to email me at April@Hubcaps.com. I’ll be happy to post it for you.

If you have any questions, please visit Hubcaps.com or call us at 1-800-826-5880 or 1-909-597-2600. We’ll help out in any way that we can. Thanks to all.

Take care,

1976 Chevrolet Caprice Classic…

1976 Chevrolet Caprice ClassicHi all!

Today our Hubcaps.com featured vehicle is this lovely 1976 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. This baby weighs in at a massive 4800 pounds and was longer than most of the full-size pick-up trucks of that era. Some of the changes for this year included a new eggcrate grille surrounded by new rectangular headlights. She had modified interior and exterior trimmings and offered the final year of this body style. It was also the final year that the Big Block 454 V8 was offered.

This Chevy sports our CHV071C wheel covers which can be seen here on our Chevrolet Caprice page. These beauties were restored by our awesome restoration guys. You can see that they look almost brand new. Those guys do an incredible job. I recently had them restore an old trim ring for one of my neighbors and he couldn’t believe it was the same beauty ring. It looked perfect!

We offer new and used hub caps, restoration services and free shipping inside the Continental U.S. We ship internationally also and have reasonable shipping and handling costs for destinations outside of the Continental U.S. Give us a call at 1-800-826-5880 or 1-909-597-2600. We’d love to hear from you.

For those of you who want to share pictures with us, email me here at April@Hubcaps.com.

Thanks again and take care all!

1966 Pontiac GTO

Posted on March 19th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase by april

1966 Pontiac GTOMorning!

Today we are showcasing this incredible 1966 Pontiac GTO that comes to us from Rob, in Exeter. Wow! Isn’t this a great looking car? I love these beauties. My father actually had one when I was a little girl. So sad that he doesn’t have it anymore.

The ‘66 Goats had the unique grille and tail lights, Strato bucket seats and a redesigned instrument panel with walnut veneer trim. This was also the last year that the 389 Tri-power engine configuration was offered. A new, rare engine option was offered, the XS engine option. It was a factory Ram Air set-up with a new 744 high lift cam. The 1966 GTO’s had the highest production figures of all the GTO years with sales at 96,946 vehicles. Wish I had one. 8-)

Robs GTO has our PON999 wheel covers installed. He lets us know that it’s one of the few GTO’s out there with hub caps. I think they look great on there. Rob, thanks so much for sharing your baby with us. She’s a beaut!

If anyone else out there has pictures of wheelcovers on their vehicles that they’d like to share, feel free to email me at April@Hubcaps.com. Send me your story, pictures and vehicle information and we’ll get it posted for you. Remember, we shipped these out free to Rob as we do to all of our customers in the Continental U.S. Our international shipping and handling is very reasonable and we can use USPS or Fedex. Give us a try, we won’t disappoint.

Thanks again Rob!

Take care all,

1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible…

Posted on March 14th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

1969 Chevrolet Impala ConvertibleMorning all,

Sorry for the late post. Today we are showcasing a beautiful 1969 Chevy Impala convertible. David Wiggall sent us some pictures of his baby he calls “Big Red.” Well, Big Red is gorgeous! The 1969 Impala’s were redesigned a bit. A more sculptured look on the sides and a little longer than their previous years, but still recognizable. Reshaped fenders, rectangular taillights placed inside a thinner rear bumper and a new grille surrounded by four deep-mounted headlights finish the new look. The 1969 Impala was the only full-size Chevy to offer a convertible model. With about 777,000 made, it was certainly their most popular model.

Mr. Wiggall purchased our CHV028 wheel covers for his Big Red. You can see them on our Chevy Impala page. We restored them and sent them out to him in incredible condition. We’d like to do the same for you. Please visit our on-line catalog and see if we have what you’re looking for. If you don’t see it, please give us a call. We’d love to help.

Thank you so very much Mr. Wiggall. I appreciate you sharing Big Red with us all. She is a true beauty.

Take care now,

April

1964 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser…

Posted on March 5th, 2008 in Customer Showcase, Hubcap Showcase, Restoration Department by april

1964 Oldsmobile Vista CruiserHello again,

Hubcaps.com featured vehicle today is this lovely 1964 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser from Duane Schroeder.  This beautiful car has been repainted to its original color, Regal Mist.  She looks like she’s in great shape.  Duane tells us that the interior has been re-upholstered and also has new carpet.  He purchased our OLS966 wheel covers which actually belong to a 1965 Olds but look great here on this baby.

What makes the Vista Cruisers stand out is the glass in the roof over the second-row seating and the smaller glass panels over the cargo area.  Isn’t that unique?  What a beauty.  With a 330 cubic-inch V8, I bet she just purrs down the road.  Duane, thank you for sharing pictures with us all.  She looks fabulous.

We’re always looking for pictures from past customers to post here on the blog.  If you have any, please e-mail them to me at April@Hubcaps.com.  Send me a couple of pics and some background on the vehicle and we’ll post them up here.

Don’t forget, we ship our hub caps all over the world.  We have shipped to Russia, Belgium and the Netherlands and many more Countries.  We normally ship with USPS for International orders but have the ability to use Fedex for International orders as well.  Our free shipping includes all the Continental states including West Virginia, Virginia and Vermont.  Outside of the Continental U.S will incur extra shipping and handling costs.

Till next time,

April
